The Woke Agenda: Recommended Reading & Watching
by Dan Fournier, Commentary, published Sunday, April 16, 11:33 EDT on fournier.substack.com
This will simply be a quick post on the broader topic of Wokeism in order to recommend two eye-opening resources – one qualitative, and the other quantitative to shed much needed light on the matter.
Tough I will be posting a massive exposé on Woke ideology & DEI some time this Spring or early Summer, I wanted to nevertheless share these two outstanding resources, for they are quite timely and ought to be viewed without delay.
The Qualitative perspective: What is Woke?
This first resource is an eye-opening podcast exchange between a gentleman named Paul who is the founder of the Woke News Report and three guests first covering what wokeness is and then touching about five topics surrounding the movement. You can watch it hereunder:
Did you spot the common denominator in the five topics covered?
The Quantitative perspective: How did the Media contribute to the phenomenon?
The next fabulous resource focuses on the quantitative aspects of the prevalence of woke-related terminology as has been occurring in the media landscape in the past decade.
It is authored by researcher David Rozado and is titled The Great Awokening as a Global Phenomenon: The striking synchronicity with which Great Awokening terminology increased in news media worldwide just days ago.
Before completely diving in this article, be sure to read his previously posted article titled Prevalence of Prejudice-Denoting Words in News Media Discourse which provides necessary background material to more fully understand his Great Awokening article.
In a nutshell, Rozado’s research quantified “the prevalence of prejudice-denouncing terms and social justice associated terminology (diversity, inclusion, equality, etc.) in over 98 million news and opinion articles across 124 popular news media outlets from 36 countries representing 6 different world regions: English-speaking West, continental Europe, Latin America, sub-Saharan Africa, Persian Gulf region and Asia.”
The results are quite telling in that they show a dramatic increase in terms such as racism, racist, sexism, sexist, homophobia, transphobia, islamophobia, islamophobic, antisemitism, antisemitic since 2010 and especially since 2015 across major media outlets.
Even ahead of the United States, Canada figures among the top of the list when it came to an increase in the deployment of prejudice denouncing terminology in media.
The highly state-funded CBC appeared among the media outlets using the terminology, among others such as The Globe and Mail, The National Post, Vancouver Sun, Ottawa Citizen, Calgary Herald, Toronto Star, Toronto Sun, and Montreal Gazette.
For “Gender prejudice” terms, Canada shows a very high degree of instances where the following terms were used in media articles:
Unsurprisingly, the same goes for “Gender identity prejudice” terms:
This certainly helps to partially explain why there has been much fomented division in Canadian society, particularly with regards to opposing participants in the transgenderism movement and debate.
As for personal observations regarding his work, I offered the following comments to his piece:
“- Your Conclusion "suggests the existence of powerful underlying social dynamics at play." As most of the media is corporate-controlled with agendas to push, your analysis highlights the sheer amount of SOCIAL ENGINEERING that is taking place to manipulate the thoughts and perceptions of the masses. This is nothing new and has been going on for decades (like I reported on re NYT & the CFR as one example, see https://fournier.substack.com/p/why-society-needs-conspiracy-theories). Much of this SE involves fomenting fear, anger, doubt, and especially DIVISION. It's all part of a broader divide-and-conquer, distraction mechanism to draw the masses away from those who are looting them and wish for their extinction, imo.”
“- FUNDING: Can you look into who has increasingly funded these media outlets that you focused on for your global study? I strongly suspect that many would be the likes of George Soros Open Society Foundation, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation, and those usual culprits that are still highly enmeshed in modern Eugenics. I am so sure of this, I will publicly bet you ahead of time US$100 dollars that this is the case (i.e., that there is a significant statistical correlation). If you wish to take the bet and do the study, let me know here and now.”

Uggh, Canada..... we love and miss you....come back...... 🍁
It just so happens that a friend of mine has finished using Eleven Labs AI voice synthesis tool to turn "A Gentle Introduction to Unqualified Reservations" into an audiobook. Despite being originally published in 2009, I'd consider it highly relevant. In hindsight, it's a very prescient warning.
