Dozens of Very Large Forest Fires ignite in a span of a few hours in Quebec, the result of Eco-Terrorism?
by Dan Fournier, published Sunday, June 11, 9:55 EDT on fournier.substack.com
Last week on June 1 and June 2, no less than 20 mega-forest fires ignited in simultaneous fashion.
The image from above is a screenshot taken from a video posted by a YouTube account named dutchsinse; the information at the bottom of the image above shows it is from June 2 at 20:30 UTC time which was taken from a sequence of GOES-16 satellite images provided by the College of DuPage’s NEXLAB.
You can view the sequence from roughly the 01:38 mark of the video:
The sequence of images was taken from individual satellite images taken between June 1, 2023 and June 2.
Looking at the image above and the entire sequence, the smoke from 20 large forest fires can be seen from their source in a southwestern direction.
All June 1st individual, time-stamped, archived images from for this region of Quebec can be viewed via Iowa State University’s repository at the following address:
https://mtarchive.geol.iastate.edu/2023/06/01/cod/sat/goes16/regional/ca_reg_east/truecolor/
These satellite images were taken 10 minutes apart from each other.
If you download all the images for June 1st on your computer and view them in sequence on an image viewer program, you will notice smoke emanating from two large forest fires which seem to have been ignited at roughly the same time from about the 17:00 UTC hour mark. Here is the image from the 13:22 mark, one hour later, with the two fires circled in red:
While not necessarily odd that two forest fires could start in the same general area, keep in mind that these are satellite photographs so the distance between them is far greater than they appear.
If we look at the satellite images from next day, on June 2, from about 12:50 UTC we can notice that five more large fires are emitting smoke, as circled in red in the following image:
The smoke intensifies in the subsequent images spanning just a few hours.
A sixth large fire can be seen just left of the blue border line at around 15:40 mark and starts to emit a lot more smoke in the hours after that.
Within the next three hours we can observe about 19 more fires emitting smoke which, again, appear to have been ignited in a very close time period.
Here is the satellite image from 18:40 (three hours after 15:40) with the fires (smoke) circled in red color:
Though some are in roughly the same areas, these are at a quite significant distance from each other, given the immensity of the province’s territory.
What is the situation now?
According to a June 10, 3:05pm update from the Government of Quebec’s Public safety and Emergencies unit, 72 fires are still out of control and some 731,000 hectares of forest are affected.
The site links to a map from SOPFEU which if we only view the fires that are still out of control, we obtain the following:
Many of the 72 fires that are still out of control appear to include the ones in the same areas from those displayed in the satellite images from above.
A map from Radio-Canada, the French equivalent of the CBC, also shows the major fires still burning:
Once more, the largest forest fires represented by the bigger red dots are indeed in the same areas as from the satellite imagery.
The Radio-Canada site also notes that hundreds of thousands of hectares have already been ravaged by these forest fires – which are as not typically prevalent in the province of Quebec, it should be noted.
Specific forest fire data on each specific fire can be obtained from the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre (CIFFC). As search can be done by date, province, fire size, longitude & latitude.
What may have caused these large fires?
What are the chances of nearly 20 huge forest fires starting within hours from each other?
The creator of the dutchsine YouTube channel who usually focuses on examining earthquake data, speculates that these are unlikely due to controlled burns (which are sometimes used to clear dry forest patches for preventing forest fires), nor lightning, nor plate shifting (from generated heat releases along the craton edge) – though that is a possibility; but rather, he posits they could have been caused by some kind of coordinated attack from directed energy weapons (DEWs).
In his video, he also shows satellite image sequences from other Canadian regions in British Columbia (BC) and Nova Scotia along with areas in the United States and Mexico which have all seen unusually high levels of forest fires.
Though a lot of acts of arson have been committed by individuals across Canada this year and in prior ones – which some considered as a form of eco-terrorism, it remains unlikely that the June 1-2 forest fires in Quebec have been started by such individuals, given the remoteness of their locations – many which are largely uninhabited.
Another possibility, though quite unlikely could be that they have been initiated in the context of weather modification activities. Canada and the United States do, after all, have a signed treaty (Agreement Between Canada and the United States of America Relating to the Exchange of Information on Weather Modification Activities, E103819 - CTS 1975 No. 11) under which they are required to report such activities to one another.
Yet another possibility relates to the Climate Change agenda that has been a top priority of Trudeau’s Liberal government in the past several years.
On June 7th, Steven Guilbeault from Trudeau’s Cabinet who currently serves as the Minister Environment and Climate Change, tweeted about how the wildfires are linked to carbon pollution causing climate change, also linking to an alarmist, pro-carbon tax, article titled The social cost of carbon from Canada’s National Observer.
Two days earlier, on June 5th, Guilbeault re-tweeted a tweet from Jonathan Wilkinson, an Member of Parliament from North Vancouver, BC, regarding the threat of these forest fires which links to a news release of the same day (The Government of Canada Provides Update on Wildfire Seasonal Outlook and Outlines Response). As per the press release, Guilbeault stated the following in which he links the increase of forest fires with climate change:
“We are already seeing one of the worst wildfire seasons on record, and we must prepare for a long summer. The Government of Canada is stepping up to the request for assistance from Quebec and will immediately begin mobilizing Canadian Armed Forces, firefighting resources and assistance with planning to support the wildfire response in the province. The threat of increased fires due to climate change is one of the many reasons our government is developing a robust National Adaptation Strategy with all levels of government and Indigenous groups, so we can be sure our communities are well prepared for the impacts of climate change.”
There’s no doubt that a significant increase in forest fires increase climate alarmism, and inherently, the radical demands and funds that are sought by the Liberal government in this respect.
What is particularly noteworthy and contradictory in the press release has to do with what they claim about the so-called drought-like conditions in Quebec province. They state the following:
“Current June projections indicate the potential for continued higher-than-normal fire activity across most of the country throughout the 2023 wildland fire season due to ongoing drought and long-range forecasts for warm temperatures. For June, warm and dry conditions will increase wildfire risk in most of Canada from British Columbia and Yukon eastward into western Quebec and the Atlantic region. During July, wildfire potential is expected to expand into Yukon, although the eastern edge will recede from western Quebec into central Ontario.”
Though these are merely forecasts, if we look at the Government of Canada’s own Canadian Drought Monitor which examines drought conditions across the country, we can see that western Quebec actually has no level of drought at all associated with it, as can be examined in the following official map (with conditions as of May 31, 2023 – just a day prior to the June 1-2 mega fires):
Next, the following paragraph in the press release states the following:
“Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) generates monthly forecast maps from April to September. These seasonal forecasts use the most recent fire weather indexes and take into account drought conditions and temperature and precipitation forecasts. These forecasts are compared with the average weather in each region, and the differences are mapped as above or below the average. The forecasts are used as a long-range planning tool by fire resource managers. NRCan publicly shares its forecasting for the fire season with full transparency on the uncertainty inherent in weather projections.”
It states that their forecasts are largely based on fire weather indexes as well as drought conditions, and they link to a Canadian Wildland Fire Information System from Natural Resources Canada from which monthly and seasonal forecasts can be generated. Using the tool, if we select ‘Average Severity Rating’ for June, we get the following map:
As can be observed from the generated map, a ‘moderate’ level of severity is indicated (in green color) for Quebec province. And for the following month of July, it drops further to the ‘low’ spectrum (in blue) as can be see hereunder:
Therefore, the “increase wildfire risk” as indicated in the paragraph from above of their press release is indeed contradictory, for their own projected data on drought conditions indicates otherwise.
For an alternate perspective on Quebec, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s National Drought Mitigation Center also has a similar drought monitor called the North American Drought Monitor with two authors assigned specifically for Canada. And data valid through April 30, 2023 also revealed that in the period a month before these fires took place, the western part of Quebec indicated no drought-striken areas whatsoever according to its following map:
All these considered, the cause of the sudden outbreak of some of the largest fires seen in decades in the province of Quebec remains elusive.
Moreover, for such a great number of them to occurring in the span of a fraction of one day is highly suspicious, to say the least.
Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia has also been victim to very rare large forest fires over the last couple of weeks.
A June 7, 2023 tweet by a lady named Joanne Lesley embedded a video of a now retired gentlemen who claimed to have worked for 29 years as a Forest Technologist from the Department of Natural Resources (of Nova Scotia). The unnamed gentlemen said he had put together a team of retired fire-fighting experts and contacted the Dept. of Natural Resources in Shube (NS) for several days to offer help, only to be told that their help was not needed. He found this odd, as he had heard that the province’s Premier, Tim Houston, that they were doing everything they could and actually asking for help; yet, their valuable input was refused. Frustrated, he went on local talk radio to talk about the situation and was warned by Shube Fire Control to essentially keep quiet.
This gentleman stated that he was highly experienced in commanding teams that fought fires as large as 50,000 acres in the Acadian forest region and said he could have assembled additional teams of experts. But they were still ignored by the local authorities who preferred to employ inexperienced crews that were recently mobilised from South Africa and from the United States.
He found it “an absolute disgrace” that their own government refused to let highly experienced teams of retired and seasoned professionals help out, instead opting to rely on these inexperienced crews.

Eco-Terrorism?
Eco-terrorism is defined as “violence carried out to further environmentalist ends,” with “the action of causing deliberate environmental damage in order to further political ends.”
Even our Minister Environment and Climate Change Steven Guilbeault was charged and arrested with such a form of eco-terrorism, as per an October 27, 2021 article from the CBC. The article recounts Guilbeault’s activist past while at Greenpeace.
“In 2001, Guilbeault was arrested after scaling Toronto's CN Tower to raise awareness of climate change. In 2002, he was involved in a Greenpeace stunt that saw activists climb onto the roof of then Alberta premier Ralph Klein's house to install solar panels.”
While it would be careless to pinpoint Guilbeault as a possible contributor to the Canadian fires, it should nevertheless be noted that he has demonstrated extremist environmental views in the past, and is currently an unswerving figure pushing the Climate Change agenda.
Holding an important position of power such as Minister Environment and Climate Change aligned with Trudeau’s Liberal government who is constantly introducing legislation to curb emissions while increasing carbon taxes leaves much to be questioned.
There has been an unusually high frequency of reports about arson and fires started by motivation of eco-terrorism in Canada in the past month or so.
One Canadian journalist and political commentator named Mark Slapinski has reported on several of these.
In just the last few days, Slapinski wrote three articles on the subject, citing multiple arson-related arrests and investigations in Alberta, Quebec, and Nova Scotia.
In his June 10 article titled Arson suspected in Quebec wildfires, silence from left-wing media, Slapinski observes that even the left-leaning outlet in the Toronto Sun deviated from the usual accusations of conspiracy theories when it came to questioning the official narrative of climate change, instead reporting on arson as a possible contributor to the forest fires. The linked Toronto Sun article confirmed that “Quebec police are investigating the possibility that the smoke creating poor air quality in southern Ontario and making downtown skylines disappear may have been the result of arson.” “There is an investigation because the cause is suspect,” said Surtee (sic) de Quebec media officer Hugues Beaulieu. (note: the Sun’s article should have read Sûreté du Québec).
The Sun article also cited that Gerald Butts, Justin Trudeau’s close friend and former principal secretary, had tweeted “The fires are worse because of the conditions in the forest. The conditions are caused by climate change.” Two other tweets by politicians citing climate change as the cause of the Canadian wildfires were also mentioned.
The article’s author, Joe Warmington, called out these politicians and even the Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault in a tweet , stating that they should call Quebec police to learn about the criminal probe into possible arson. The tweet also contained an image in reference to an article titled ‘Un lien possible entre les trois feux a Chapais’ (English: ‘A possible link between the three fires at Chapais’) by a French outlet called leQuotidien.
In that article, the mayor of the town of Chapais noted that there seemd to be a link between the three fires in the region and that the SQ (Quebec provincial police, the Sûreté du Québec) was investigating the matter.
It should be noted that the town of Chapais in Quebec is in direct proximity of one of the large fires noted at the beginning of this article and as can be seen in the following image which shows the location of Chapais from Google maps in the yellow box insert:
City News out of Edmonton also reported that Alberta brings in additional arson investigators to trace causes of wildfires.
Too many of such instances have occurred to include in this post; but, arson as a form of eco-terrorism should not be underestimated as a contributing factor to these forest fires.
Still, may of the largest fires have occurred in fairly uninhabited and remote areas in Quebec. As such, other forms of arson such as deliberate attacks could have been initiated through specialised means.
Accordingly, the theory described by dutchsinse who authored the video featured at the beginning of this post posits that the most likely means by which these fires could have been started is either by a “coordinated attack orchestrated by hundreds of people working in unison somehow secretly” or by a “DEW from above”, referring to a directed energy weapons (DEW).
The later theory of the two is not far-fetched nor unprecedented, for there exists evidence of such occurrences.
For instance they have occurred in places such as California in the past years as has been evidenced in the following resources:

As can be observed in the photos from the articles and video above, countless rows of homes have been completely destroyed – many without any remaining foundational structure – while trees next to them remain untouched and unburned. Other photos show multiple adjacent vehicles on roads and highways have also caught fire. Obviously, these are not normal incidences caused by forest fires.
The Christian Observer article from above alludes to the possible use of Directed Energy Weapons (DEWs) and even point to military documents to this effect such as the United States Air Force September 2011 document titled Technology Horizons a Vision for Air Force Science and Technology 2010-20 (click link to access the PDF document). The document unveils a whole series of technologies that are of a DEW nature.
It also reports open-source reports of Chinese and Russian efforts to develop directed-energy ASAT capabilities using lasers from the ground or from satellites.
A January 9, 2020 National Defense University Press document titled Directed Energy Weapons Are Real . . . And Disruptive attests to the availability and use of such kinds of weapons.
Furthermore, the U.S. Army’s Army Directed Energy Strategy lists current capabilities about Directed Energy (DE) weapon systems as part of its transformation to a Multi-Domain capable force.
The Centre for Research on Globalization (better known as GlobalResearch.ca) based in Montreal, Quebec also reported on how the U.S. military used HAARP as a secret weapon system for weather modification and electromagnetic warfare back in 2018.
Article 36, a UK-based not-for-profit organisation working to promote public scrutiny over the development and use of weapon, released a discussion paper in 2017 describing concerns about Directed Energy Weapons (DEWs).
Additional photos and information about DEWs can be found on this website. From there the following stunning photograph, not dissimilar to some above, can be seen:
The website notes the following regarding this scene [with emphasis added]:
“Notice how every home on this block burnt totally flat. Not a single item left--no refrigerators or bath tubs, toilets, ect. Not only did the trees again not burn but just about everything (aside from clothes, mattresses, furniture cloth and paper) that were in the homes did burn and just about everything in those homes that burnt require a higher burning temperature than wood (refer to temperature charts linked above).
Not only were the trees leading to the houses not burnt, the streets between the homes look clean showing no ashes, debris or even charring. This shows that the fires didn't arrive to the houses from the outside, but looks as if the fires came from inside. The fact that ashes cannot even be seen on the streets and the forest didn't burn shows not only that it was not windy, but that the phrase "wild fires" used by the media is not only a misnomer, but an outright lie.
Looks as if some kind of directed energy attack went to each house or to the electrical wiring or meter of each house. Could the pulse have been sent by the power company to the electrical power supply of each house, by a microwave weapon or by a laser, or maybe all three, depending on which fires you're talking about. Some people reported seeing a laser in the Santa Rosa Fire. The result of most of the fires point to microwaves due to the material specificness of what burned and what didn't (for example the metal hinges on the roadside rails, but not the wooden beams held together by those metal hinges) and then they get quickly replaced as if to hide the evidence. One thing that is for certain is that these were not normal fires and this was an attack.
For perspective and to serve as a reminder of what the results of a house fire usually looks like, below are pictures of houses that burnt down. Normally, the entire house and all it's contents are not vaporized or turned to dust and entire blocks don't go down with it. Usually, not even the house next door gets affected. One might argue they were put out by firemen, but then why hasn't that been done in Paradise before the fire reached the 2nd and 3rd and 4th house, and so on? One reason given is that the fires were too hot. Hotter than that of a normal house fire. There were also reports by some firemen that they were told to stand down.
SMOKING GUN: Hard Evidence Shows Camp Fire Was Manmade, Genocide and Mass Destruction of Paradise Carefully Planned; and New Californians First in US to Officially Join Yellow Vest Movement (survivors of Paradise who claim the fires were state-sponsored arson).”
While it would be difficult to prove that DEWs or DEW-like weapons could have been used to ignite multiple forest fires in Quebec at once (and for other forest fires in other Canadian provinces), the capabilities do seem to exist and should not be discarded as a possible culprit.
The bigger question is, however, will the authorities care enough to conduct a real investigation into the matter? Or, will the abnormal increase in massive forest fires continue to be blamed on the effect of Climate Change?
Time will tell.
Note that this author has contacted the Quebec provincial police (Sûreté du Québec) for comment on the Quebec forest fires and whether there is enough merit to warrant an investigation. Should a reply be forthcoming, it will be shared as an addendum to this post.
Addendum 2023-06-11 at 19:50 - Update from the Sûreté du Québec
I have received a reply from the Quebec provincial police (Sûreté du Québec) regarding my media inquiry. Here is the response I received (translated from French):
“We are currently in assistance to our various partners and as we are in an operational component involving an evolutionary situation, we will take stock with them for a future orientation of our possible actions.”
As can be seen, the response is quite general and vague (especially regarding who these partners are), perhaps also because the situation is evolving and developing. This author will try to keep abreast of the latest developments and add other addendums as needed.

Excellent detailed essay that I've read to date!
If someone, after reading this, still believes the corrupt governments explanation that these (Quebec, Alberta, LA, Maui, etc.) fires are caused by climate change need to get their brains scanned for tumours.
There is NO DOUBT in my mind with all the irrefutable evidences out there that prove that the majority of these fires were started by Directed Energy Weapons (DEW) and then rapidly spread via high-frequency microwave weaponry known as MASER-Microwave Amplification by Stimulated Emmission of Rays.
good stuff- thank you-
